One of my core childhood memories is of my mother singing "Over in the Meadow" to me, but the editions I found all had illustration styles that didn't interest my toddler, so I started my own.
Having an audience of just one person is definitely a lot faster to get feedback and pivot from, but much more brutal when it's negative.
